Opening Day - Pre game

Here it is. First pitch in about an hour. Right now I'm watching FSN Detriot's "Season Preview" and MLB Network's coverage of Opening Day around the League. One disturbing note, FSN has an even more annoying version of "April in the D" this year. Not cool guys, not cool at all.

Here are the rosters for today-

Tigers

Granderson- CF
Polanco-2B
Ordonez-RF
Cabrera-1B
Guillen-DH
Laird-C
Inge-3B
Everett-SS
Anderson-LF

Verlander-P

Blue Jays

Scutaro-SS
Hill-2B
Rios-RF
Well-CF
Lind-DH
Rolen-3B
Overbay-1B
Barajas-C
Snider-LF

Halladay-P

Let's Go Tigers!!!!

***Update****

Granderson takes a walk but doesn't go anywhere in Detroit's 1st.

The Jays almost bat around in their 1st as Verlander has to throw 35 pitches to get out of it.
Tigers 0- Jays 4

***Update*** 2nd

Tigers go 1,2,3
Jays start with a double but Verlander strikes out the next two and gets a flyout to RF to end it after 15 pitches.
Tigers 0- Jays 4

***Update*** 3rd
Tigers go 1,2,3 (does anyone see a trend here?)
Verlander has another good inning, using 11 pitches to set down the Jay.
Tigers 0- Jays 4

****Update*** 4th
Who's my Tiger?!?! Granderson puts one in the 2nd deck in RF but no more after that. Guillen hit it hard to center though. Maybe they are figuring Halladay out.
Tigers 1-Jays 4
Snider takes the first pitch he sees out of the park to LF.
Tigers 1-Jays 5
Scutaro takes his second pitch and turns it into a triple to the gap in right-center field. Scutero scores on a shallow fly to left.
Tigers 1-Jays 6
Somebody is up in the 'pen. That's not good, but Verlander is getting lit up right now.
Rios hits ANOTHER double to LF.
Verlander walks Wells on 4 pitches.
Verlander is done. He only gets through 4 2/3 innings and leaves men on 1st and 2nd.
Tigers 1- Jays 6
This is not a good night so far :(

Bonine is in.

And Lind clears the bases with a HR to CF. Please, MAKE IT STOP!!

Cabrera makes a sweet catch of a hot liner to end the inning.
Tigers 1- Jays 9

Alright I missed the 5th and 6th, but it looks like no one scored.

I just saw Guillen hit a sweet RBI double to CF to score Maggs.
Tigers 2- Jays 9.

Okay, Laird just hit an RBI single.

Okay, Brandon just hit a 2 run HR!!!!
Tigers 5- Jays 9.
That's not close, but it sure is better than down by 8. Maybe they have figured Halladay out here in the 7th.

Looks like Bonine is done after giving up a single. Here cooommmeess Nate! Let's see if he realllly wants to pitch in Detroit.

Well, I guess he does! Nate strikes out 2 and lets Curtis showoff how awesome he is in CF.
Tigers 5- Jays 9

Hallady is out. Carlson takes over for Toronto.
Carlson gets Granderson to fly out to RF. That was his job and now Lee takes over.
Lee gets Polanco but Maggs and Cabrera both single. Lee is done.
Scott Downs takes over.
-----------Elena wants to know if the Tigers should have more practice? I think she's right.
Downs gets Guillen to ground out, threat over.
Tigers 5- Jays 9

Rincon has walked two and allowed a single to load up the bases. There are 0 outs and Wells is up. Uh oh.
Everett just had an error allowing a run when it should have been an out at home. Still bases loaded with 0 out.
Single to CF. Another run.
Tigers 5- Jays 11
Sac Fly to LF.
Tigers 5- Jays 12 1 out

Alright, this is getting weird. Leyland just pulled the Tigers off of the field because the fans are throwing junk (including baseballs?!) on to the field. The Tigers are sitting in the dugout and the umpires are standing around talking. So far no one from the Toronto organization has done anything. This just gets stranger.
The head umpire is talking to the head of security now. Oh, those crazy Canadians!
BTW: If you go to the game in Toronto tomorrow you can't by booze. I wonder why? :)
End of 8th: Tigers 5- Jays 12

Here's the 9th. Rally time!!!
Laird out. That's 1.
Inge out. That's 2.
Everett out. That's 3.

Final score: Tigers 5 - Jays 12.

Let's hope tomorrow is better.
